Hailing from Birmingham, UK this female fronted alternative metal quintet are already make waves in the UK scene. Since only forming in early 2012, Aurora have managed to develop an unique sound that is as beautiful as it is crushing, sitting unsettlingly somewhere between Paramore & Bring Me The Horizon, and taking influences from the likes of Whilst She Sleeps, Of Mice & Men, Bury Tomorrow & Hands Like Houses.

Aurora's debut 5 track EP 'Easily Broken' shows a great maturity in song writing, for such a young band, blending hardcore attitude with a metal stance, the band have certainly hone their skills and sound, all backed up by a wide range of vocals skills from Jessica Calversbert. The opening track 'Pressure' will also give you an idea of what the band are aiming for on their debut album due in 2013 with a slightly heavier approach.

'Easily Broken' is due for release on the 20th November 2012 on In At The Deep End Records

Big Cheese 4/5
Storming debut EP from the Birmingham metal quintet.
Depite only forming a year ago, Aurora have managed to hone a great sound from themselves. The five-piece have delivered some great metal songs on this five track EP and vocalist Jessica Calversbert adds a different element. Her voice isn't a million miles away from Paramore's Hayley Williams, which is usually an inevitable comparison when it comes to female-fronted bands, but this one genuinely warrants it. The juxtaposition of melodic vocals and screaming with synths and crunching riffs works incredibly well. They definitely have their own take on metal, and because of this, they might just do well.

Metal Hammer 7/10
Debut EP from Birmingham's answer to Paramore. Strong melodies, gut wrenching screams, a no shit attitude and promise of heavier sounds to come; this young quintet are bright contenders and headed for bigger things. (Natasha Scharf)
